Islamabad court extends Imran Khan's bail in Section 144 violation case

On August 9, Gill was arrested from Banigala Chowk in the capital a day after making controversial remarks on a private TV channel. He was subsequently booked on charges of sedition and inciting members of state institutions against the Pakistan Army. District and Sessions Judge (East) Khalid Hussain Shahani overturned the decision of Judicial Magistrate (East) Wazeer Hussain Memon who had ordered Hussain's postmortem on June 18. The ruling came in response to an appeal filed by Dua Aamir — daughter of the late televangelist and PTI MNA — challenging the court's decision to allow exhumation of the body for an autopsy. KARACHI: The father of Dua Zehra, the teenage girl who went missing and later claimed to have married, has approached court to change the investigating officer in the case. Mehdi Kazmi has filed a petition in Session and District Court through lawyer Jibran Nasir to replace the investigating officer in the alleged kidnapping case of his daughter. The complainant said the present investigation officer’s behaviour seems biased and the family has no trust over him. He also expressed concern that the investigation officer will not produce Dua Zehra for the check-up to determine her age.
